21 октября 1993 года сочинский изобретатель Виталий Михайлович Буряков подал в Сочинскую администрацию заявление с предложением построить по своему проекту автоматическое скоростное метро "Русская тройка".
Для оплаты первой очереди проектных работ Буряков продал собственный дом с участком. Администрация идею изобретателя не поддержала.
