Как сказано в базе МВД, Кушнаря разыскивают «по статье УК». В связи с чем против него возбудили уголовное дело, неизвестно.
Кушнарь сотрудничал с «Радио Свобода» и, как он сам рассказывал, развивал независимое издание «Амурбург». Сейчас журналист ведет новостной ютуб-канал Newsader. В 2022 году Минюст включил его в реестр «иностранных агентов».
