В период выборов президента России возбуждено 61 уголовное дело, из них 23 — за заведомо ложные сообщения о совершении терактов, заявил в ходе доклада в ЦИК замглавы МВД Александр Горовой. По его словам, наибольшее число дел возбуждено по статье «за ложный акт терроризма» (23) и воспрепятствованию осуществления прав избирателей (21). Глава ЦИК Элла Памфилова отметила, что нарушений законодательства, которые могли бы повлиять на итоги выборов, выявлено не было.
