Корабль является четвертым в серии типа «Hibiki».
Контракт на строительство стоимостью 129,2 млн долларов США был заключен в марте 2023 года.
Киль заложен в марте 2024 года.
Передача заказчику ожидается в марте 2026 года.
Корабль войдет в боевой состав 1 дивизиона (Ocean Surveillance Division 1), базой приписки станет ВМБ Куре (префектура Хиросима).
