به هر صورت با آنکه بین دستورالعملهای غربالگری منتشر شده در دنیا از سوی ACS, USPSTF ACP & ... اختلاف نظرهایی وجود دارد، در وجوب انجام «ماموگرافی» دو سال یک بار از سن ۴۵ تا ۷۵ سالگی، اختلافی نیست هرچند بهتر است در بازۀ سنی ۴۵ تا ۵۴ سال، ماموگرافی به صورت سالیانه انجام شود و با توجه به سن پایینتر ابتلا به این سرطان در ایران، شاید آغاز غربالگری از ۴۰ سالگی منطقی‌تر باشد.
متأسفانه زنان کشور ما در زمان سلامت به غربالگری بی‌اعتنا هستند و غالباً وقتی متوجه بیماری‌شان می‌شوند که متأسفانه سرطان پیشرفت زیادی کرده است.
