اکثریت منابع و نه فقط اثر نیبرگ نشان می‌دهند که زرتشت قبل از میلاد بوده و اوستا بعد از میلاد کتاب شده. یعنی این‌که زمان خود زرتشت کتاب مقدس اوستا وجود نداشته ولی دین زرتشت همان موقع هم دین بوده است.
