بد نیست در این زمان به ۴ مساله حل‌نشده در مورد اعداد اول (از فصل ۳ کتاب نظریه اعداد رویا بهشتی/مریم میرزاخانی) نگاهی بیاندازیم :

۱. اعداد اول p و q را دوقلو می‌نامند، به شرطی که 2 = |p-q|. آیا بی‌نهایت جفت از اعداد اول دوقلو وجود دارد؟

‏۲. مساله گلدباخ. آیا عددی زوج و بزرگتر از ۲ وجود دارد که برابر با مجموع دو عدد اول نباشد؟

۳. هر عدد به شکل 1 - 2ᵖ را عدد مرسن می‌نامند. آیا بی‌نهایت عدد مرسن اول وجود دارد؟

۴. هر عدد به شکل یک به‌اضافه ۲ به توان ۲ به توان n را عدد فرما می‌نامند. آیا بی‌نهایت عدد فرمای اول وجود دارد؟
