Прокладка тоннеля «Тяньшань Шэнли» завершилась 30 декабря в Синьцзян-Уйгурском автономном районе (СУАР).
Его протяженность — 22,13 км. Это самый длинный в мире тоннель для скоростной автомагистрали. Тоннель соединяет северную и южную части СУАР.
После ввода в эксплуатацию он сократит время поездки через центральную часть гор Тяньшань с нескольких часов до примерно 20 минут. Ожидается, что движение будет полностью открыто в 2025 году.
Работы начались в апреле 2020 года. Это ключевой проект автодороги Урумчи — Юйли, которая проходит от административного центра Урумчи до уезда Юйли.
