К десяти часам утра 10 апреля Одесса перешла под полный контроль войск 3-го Украинского фронта, войск, которыми командовал уроженец города Родион Малиновский. На освобождение старинной русской вотчины Москва салютовала залпами из 324 артиллерийских орудий.
