امید است:
حاکمیت واقع‌گرایانه به اولویت داخلی (جلوگیری از دو قطبی شدن جامعه که زمینه‌ساز آشوب است) توجه کند، و تحت تاثیر پیشنهادات خالص‌گرایان «تصعیدی» در منطقه قرار نگیرد. ایران در راهبرد دفاعی می‌تواند از پیچ کنونی سرفراز بیرون بیاید و در مقابل در راهبردهای تهاجمی به احتمال زیاد مثل تجربیات ناکام قرون گذشته، ضرر خواهد کرد.
دوم این که نیروهای اصلاح‌جو و میانه در جامعه مدنی به خنثی کردن طرح دوقطبی‌سازی دشمن (نتانیاهو و شرکا) تمرکز کنند، و دنبال «دیدی گفتم‌ها» و متلک گفتن به حاکمیت نیفتند. دفاع از ایران زمینه مشترک میان حاکمیت، جامعه مدنی و شهروندان است.
