🔹 میشل، رئیس شورای اروپا پس‌از دیدار با رئیس‌جمهور ایران نوشت: «من با رئیس‌جمهور ایران دیدار داشتم و نگرانی‌های اتحادیه اروپا را دربارهٔ این موضوعات تکرار کردم: ارسال تسلیحات به روسیه، بی‌ثبات‌کردن منطقه از طریق نیروهای نیابتی، شهروندان بازداشت‌شدهٔ اتحادیه اروپا، برنامهٔ هسته‌ای و وضعیت حقوق بشر در ایران. همچنین بر اهمیت تعامل و گفتوگو برای پرهیز از تشدید تنش‌ها تأکید کردم.»

Official government accounts have also spread fake fact checks. An official Twitter account for the Russia diplomatic mission in Geneva shared a fake debunking video claiming without evidence that "Western and Ukrainian media are creating thousands of fake news on Russia every day." The video, which has amassed almost 30,000 views, offered a "how-to" spot misinformation. In addition, Telegram's architecture limits the ability to slow the spread of false information: the lack of a central public feed, and the fact that comments are easily disabled in channels, reduce the space for public pushback. In a message on his Telegram channel recently recounting the episode, Durov wrote: "I lost my company and my home, but would do it again – without hesitation." If you initiate a Secret Chat, however, then these communications are end-to-end encrypted and are tied to the device you are using. That means it’s less convenient to access them across multiple platforms, but you are at far less risk of snooping. Back in the day, Secret Chats received some praise from the EFF, but the fact that its standard system isn’t as secure earned it some criticism. If you’re looking for something that is considered more reliable by privacy advocates, then Signal is the EFF’s preferred platform, although that too is not without some caveats. You may recall that, back when Facebook started changing WhatsApp’s terms of service, a number of news outlets reported on, and even recommended, switching to Telegram. Pavel Durov even said that users should delete WhatsApp “unless you are cool with all of your photos and messages becoming public one day.” But Telegram can’t be described as a more-secure version of WhatsApp.
