Заместитель председателя Совета безопасности РФ Дмитрий Медведев в интервью журналистам RT и ТАСС рассказал об истоках грузино-южноосетинского конфликта и принятии Россией решения о признании Абхазии и Южной Осетии 26 августа 2008 года.
По мнению Медведева, который на тот момент был президентом РФ, США использовали режим Саакашвили в качестве «пробного шага» и спустя почти полтора десятка лет спровоцировали конфликт уже на Украине. Цель — ограничение возможностей развития России.
Медведев рассказал, как подобные действия Вашингтона сказываются на Европе и почему он считает президента США Джозефа Байдена «заложником Украины». Зампред Совета безопасности РФ также высказал мнение, что из-за действий Вашингтона ситуация на Украине стала проблемой мирового масштаба.
