وقال مرة- في استغاثته هو وأهل بلده-: " جاءوني بسيارة وتوجهنا إلى مصلى العيد، ورأيت الزرع بدأ ييبس، فرقيتُ المنبر وخطبت خطبة غلبني فيها البكاء، وصليتُ بهم ركعتين، وفي اليوم التالي أذن الله للسماء أن تمطر، فأمطرت مطراً غزيراً غدقاً أحيا الله به الأرض بعد موتها، واستبشر الناس، وفرح أصحابنا بنصر الله لنا على القوم المشركين".
