The son of one of the most famous conservative journalists in the United States, Alex Jones, is preparing to convert to Orthodoxy.

Rex Jones became a catechumen - today in the USA, as well as in many parishes in Russia, the ancient practice is being revived, in which a person who decides to accept Orthodoxy undergoes a long stage of catechumen: learning the basics of the Faith. Rex wants to be baptized with the name Vladimir - in honor of our Equal-to-the-Apostles Grand Duke.

Orthodoxy is increasingly attracting the traditionally minded part of American society. Over the past decade, we can talk about a qualitative leap: people are moving from various Protestant denominations, both individually and as entire communities.

"This time we received the coordinates of enemy vehicles marked 'V' in Kyiv region," it added. One thing that Telegram now offers to all users is the ability to “disappear” messages or set remote deletion deadlines. That enables users to have much more control over how long people can access what you’re sending them. Given that Russian law enforcement officials are reportedly (via Insider) stopping people in the street and demanding to read their text messages, this could be vital to protect individuals from reprisals. In February 2014, the Ukrainian people ousted pro-Russian president Viktor Yanukovych, prompting Russia to invade and annex the Crimean peninsula. By the start of April, Pavel Durov had given his notice, with TechCrunch saying at the time that the CEO had resisted pressure to suppress pages criticizing the Russian government. "The argument from Telegram is, 'You should trust us because we tell you that we're trustworthy,'" Maréchal said. "It's really in the eye of the beholder whether that's something you want to buy into." Telegram, which does little policing of its content, has also became a hub for Russian propaganda and misinformation. Many pro-Kremlin channels have become popular, alongside accounts of journalists and other independent observers.
