The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. As such, the SC would like to remind investors to always exercise caution when evaluating investment opportunities, especially those promising unrealistically high returns with little or no risk. Investors should also never deposit money into someone’s personal bank account if instructed. Despite Telegram's origins, its approach to users' security has privacy advocates worried. But because group chats and the channel features are not end-to-end encrypted, Galperin said user privacy is potentially under threat.
