سارکوزی، یکی از رؤسای جمهور فرانسه به جرم فساد در فرانسه محاکمه و به زندان فرستاده شد. قطعا محاکمه و زندانی کردن او باب میل هوادارانش نبود و بخشی از جامعه فرانسه چنین حکمی را نمی‌پسندیدند اما سرجمع چنین حکمی باعث اعتماد مردم به حاکمیت فرانسه و دستگاه قضایی آن می‌شود. محاکمه سارکوزی نه تنها پایه‌های نظام فرانسه را سست‌تر نکرد و آبروی آن را نبرد بلکه بهانه‌ای برای کسب آبروی آن شد.
سؤال مردم اما در ایران این است. چرا رئیس جمهوری مثل حسن روحانی علیرغم انتشار اسناد متعدد تخلفات و مفاسد اداری و سیاسی دوره‌اش، محاکمه هیچ، فراخوانده نمی‌شود؟!
