Установленная мощность ГАЭС достигает 3,6 млн кВт — это крупнейшая станция подобного рода в мире. ГАЭС рассчитана на выработку 6,61 млрд кВт·ч электроэнергии в год. Этого хватит, чтобы обеспечить электроэнергией 2,6 млн домохозяйств.
Строительство станции начали в 2013 году. Первые энергоблоки «Фэннин» были запущены в 2021 и уже выработали 8,62 млрд кВт·ч. Ожидается, что ГАЭС в Чэндэ позволит экономить свыше 480 тыс. тонн угля и уменьшить выбросы углекислого газа на 1,2 млн тонн в год.

He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations.
