فأجَاب: إذا أخطأ الشيخ فإنه يُنبَّه على ذلك بأدب، ومن الأحسن أن يُنبَّه وحده دون أن يُغلَّط أمام النَّاس، وفي الغالب إذا كان من أهل الدِّيانة فإنه إذا نُبه فإنه يرجع وكثيرًا ما يرجع أمام النَّاس، ويقول لهم: لقد نبهني بعض الطلاب على أنني ذكرتُ هذه المسألة خطأ فيُنبَّه، لكن الأحسن أن ينبه منفردًا وألا يُغلط أمام النَّاس، فإن ذلك مما يُضعف هيبة النَّاس به، وهذا ليس من مصلحة طلاب العلم أن تنزع هيبة شيخهم منهم، فذلك مما يُضعف هممهم ويُفسد عليهم.
