The title could be about a weighted blanket, or a comfy hoodie, but it's not. It is actually about the event I was lucky enough to be invited to.
It still bogs my mind just how cozy I felt in a completely new city with almost all unknown people (I was extremely fortunate to meet Asiya, who we attended a speaking club with, IRL 🩷 and of course I knew Liliya Ayatskova, the soul and the leader of the team 🧡).
Even though I am not taking about blankets (I kind of am actually LOL), throughout the whole event I felt as though I was wrapped snuggly into one, sitting in my rocking chair with a cup of tea.
And it's all because of the people (organizers, speakers and anybody and everybody I managed to talk to) and the ambience they created ☀️
So, the perfect ratio for me is 1 cozy ELT-event/50 or so amazing people.
I am definitely coming back to Voronezh.

At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised. At its heart, Telegram is little more than a messaging app like WhatsApp or Signal. But it also offers open channels that enable a single user, or a group of users, to communicate with large numbers in a method similar to a Twitter account. This has proven to be both a blessing and a curse for Telegram and its users, since these channels can be used for both good and ill. Right now, as Wired reports, the app is a key way for Ukrainians to receive updates from the government during the invasion. During the operations, Sebi officials seized various records and documents, including 34 mobile phones, six laptops, four desktops, four tablets, two hard drive disks and one pen drive from the custody of these persons. On Feb. 27, however, he admitted from his Russian-language account that "Telegram channels are increasingly becoming a source of unverified information related to Ukrainian events." Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message on Tuesday that Ukrainian forces "destroy the invaders wherever we can."
