In Mandalay mit rund 1,2 Millionen Einwohnern dürften die Erschütterungen sehr stark gewesen sein. Laut Medien wurden im Epizentrum des Bebens mehrere Hundert #Wohnhäuser zerstört. Aus den Trümmern würden Menschen geborgen. Offizielle Angaben zu Verletzten liegen derzeit nicht vor.
