لوح مسی وویجر ۱ و ۲ داستان جالبی دارد. در سال ۱۹۷۷ ناسا به همراه کاوشگرهای وویجر ۱ و ۲ ،لوحی مسی با روکش طلا به فضا فرستاد. این لوح روی خود اشکالی از جنس نر و ماده انسان ،آدرسی شماتیک از زمین در کهکشان راه شیری و داستانی از تمدن انسان به زبان ریاضی دارد. در داخل لوح هم چندین تصویر ، چند موسیقی ،چند صدای طبیعی همچون صدای گریه نوزاد و صدای دریا به صورت یادگاری قرار داده شده به امید اینکه روزی به دست موجودات فضایی برسد.روزی که دیگر شاید تمدن انسان وجود نداشته باشد.شعری از سعدی به زبان فارسی نیز در لوح ضبط شده.
