На Сахалине объявлено штормовое предупреждение из-за циклона

По данным сахалинского управления Росгидромета, в четверг на территории Макаровского, Томаринского, Долинского, Корсаковского и Анивского районов ожидаются сильный снегопад и метель, видимость 500 м и менее, порывы ветра могут достигать 22–27 м/с, сохраняется угроза схода лавин. Аналогичные метеоусловия в четверг прогнозируются в Холмском и Невельском районах и Южно-Сахалинске, порывы ветра на побережьях усилятся до 28 м/с.

Continuing its crackdown against entities allegedly involved in a front-running scam using messaging app Telegram, Sebi on Thursday carried out search and seizure operations at the premises of eight entities in multiple locations across the country. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) had carried out a similar exercise in 2017 in a matter related to circulation of messages through WhatsApp. Such instructions could actually endanger people — citizens receive air strike warnings via smartphone alerts. In a message on his Telegram channel recently recounting the episode, Durov wrote: "I lost my company and my home, but would do it again – without hesitation." At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised.
