Эти девять квадратных метров отдавали мне всю свою осеннюю сырость прелой листвы, неувядающую зелень мхов на павших ниц древах и уже едва уловимый аромат густого, но поседевшего настила хвои, утратившей былую колкость и ныне лежавшей вперемешку с россыпью берёзовых и липовых пожухлых сердец да с проступающими где-нигде грибницами - с принесёнными октябрём дождями оживали они то кучным семейством на дряхлом пне и ломанной ветви березняка, то модными шляпками меж разбросанной лесной утвари, выбираясь из-под налёта ржавой листвы точно после долгого летнего сна. Лес стоял всюду - предо, надо и подо мной. В лесу стояла тишина.
