Ранее законопроект противоположного содержания направил в парламент глава Хакасии, член КПРФ Валентин Коновалов. Он посчитал целесообразным сохранить двухуровневую модель, поскольку она привычна жителям и «обеспечивает более тесную связь власти с населением».
Как ожидается, оба законопроекта будут рассмотрены на сессии Верховного совета в июне. ЕР располагает в парламенте большинством голосов (34 из 50), что позволяет ей утвердить переход на одноуровневую модель вопреки мнению губернатора-коммуниста.

Continuing its crackdown against entities allegedly involved in a front-running scam using messaging app Telegram, Sebi on Thursday carried out search and seizure operations at the premises of eight entities in multiple locations across the country. Given that Russian law enforcement officials are reportedly (via Insider) stopping people in the street and demanding to read their text messages, this could be vital to protect individuals from reprisals. At this point, however, Durov had already been working on Telegram with his brother, and further planned a mobile-first social network with an explicit focus on anti-censorship. Later in April, he told TechCrunch that he had left Russia and had “no plans to go back,” saying that the nation was currently “incompatible with internet business at the moment.” He added later that he was looking for a country that matched his libertarian ideals to base his next startup.
