وعن زائدة بن قدامة قال :" صليت مَعَ أَبِي حنيفة في مسجده عشاء الآخرة، وخرج النَّاس ولم يعلم أني في المسجد، وأردت أن أسأله عن مسألة، من حيث لا يراني أحد، قَالَ: فقام فقرأ، وقد افتتح الصَّلاة، حَتَّى بلغ إلى هذه الآية: ﴿ فَمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَانَا عَذَابَ السَّمُومِ ﴾ فأقمت في المسجد أنتظر فراغه، فلم يزل يرددها حَتَّى أذن المُؤَذِّن لصلاة الفجر".
