Writer’s block... or blog? Or both?

Basically, I have to confess – I am at my wits end about what to write. Usually I have no such problems, ‘cause I write about whatever pops up, and it’s usually useful in some way (IMHO).

However, I am not teaching at the moment, so, alas, I’ve been wrecking my brain for ideas for naught (the brain just won’t cooperate).

There is also the fact that I am still under the influence of winter blues, the year has started in the way that I would describe as “meh, could have been worse” (On January 4th I fell of a stool, broke a huge amount of dishes, landed on top of the pieces and severely sprained my ankle so all my plans to be out and about fell through. The “worse part” is the fact that I could have cut myself very badly when landing on the broken dishes, but somehow managed not to).

What’s more, for some godforsaken reason my imposter syndrome has come back to haunt me (with vengeance).

I started this blog to share whatever, it was a personal project. But then I talked to smart people who said I needed to find my niche and target audience and focus on that, but it all seems like cutting parts off of myself. This blog is my baby, my brainchild. I sometimes want to be selfish and post whatever I want to, from my hobbies to supposedly philosophical drivel, but nowadays I feel responsible for all the amazing people who are here with me.

And this writer’s block kind of makes me feel that when (not if) my work situation changes, I will not be able to continue in the way I am doing now. I used to write short stories, whole children adventure novels (some were completed), fanfiction… and well, I am not doing it anymore.

Sorry for being kind of depressing, I needed to vent. I’ll probably be removing this rambly, down-in-the-damps post later.

Thanks a lot if you have read this through.

Yours,

Yulia 💙

P.S. Thank you so much for answering the questions for my Master’s paper! 😳😳😳

All of the same risks and warnings about channels can be applied to groups. Overall, extreme levels of fear in the market seems to have morphed into something more resembling concern. For example, the Cboe Volatility Index fell from its 2022 peak of 36, which it hit Monday, to around 30 on Friday, a sign of easing tensions. Meanwhile, while the price of WTI crude oil slipped from Sunday’s multiyear high $130 of barrel to $109 a pop. Markets have been expecting heavy restrictions on Russian oil, some of which the U.S. has already imposed, and that would reduce the global supply and bring about even more burdensome inflation. And while money initially moved into stocks in the morning, capital moved out of safe-haven assets. The price of the 10-year Treasury note fell Friday, sending its yield up to 2% from a March closing low of 1.73%. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message on Tuesday that Ukrainian forces "destroy the invaders wherever we can."
