В первом полугодии 2024 года лесной доход Нижегородской области достиг 667 млн рублей. Это на 21% больше, чем за тот же период прошлого года.
Регион находится на третьем месте в Приволжье по уровню доходов, полученных от использования лесов после Пермского края и Кировской области.
Большую часть дохода в казну приносит аренда лесных земель для заготовки древесины, геологоразведка и добыча полезных ископаемых, строительство и эксплуатация линейных объектов, купля-продажа лесных насаждений, а также рекреационная деятельность.
