🙋‍♂️About the Speaker:
𝐀𝐣𝐚𝐡𝐧 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐨 comes from Central Java, Indonesia and spends time in the hill tribes of Chiang Mai. He came to know and practice meditation at 20 years old, during his university days. After many years of struggle and a relentless and determined search to fill a spiritual void, at the age of 29, he encountered a book by Ajahn Chah and decided to seek out Wat Pah Nanachat, Thailand, with the intention of becoming a Buddhist monk. On the 5th December 2006, Ajahn ordained as novice monk. And finally, on the 6th July 2008, he became a fully ordained Bhikkhu. Both ordinations were granted by Luang Por Liem Thitadhammo, the present Abbot of Wat Nong Pah Pong, Thailand. Ajahn exudes great mindfulness and is an inspiration wherever he goes.

For our November text of the month, we are honored to welcome Khenpo Sonam Tsewang as our special guest teacher. Khenpo la will continue our celebration of Guru Rinpoche with a teaching on “Fulfilling All Wishes: A Prayer to the Embodiment of All Refuges, Guru Rinpoche”—a guru yoga liturgy composed by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo.

This concise practice brings together all the essential elements of guru yoga—visualization, the seven branches, supplication, Padmasambhava’s twelve-syllable mantra, and a brief visualization of receiving the initiations—within a single, complete text. Khyentse Wangpo created it as a shorter form of Le'u Dünma, the famous Seven-Chapter Prayer to Guru Rinpoche, making it easy to integrate with other practices or recite on its own daily.

Khenpo Sonam Tsewang was trained at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies and the Ngagyur Nyingma Institute, and he founded the translation and editorial committees at Namdroling Monastery. At KVP, he serves as a traditional scholar, bringing extensive knowledge and experience, particularly in translating complex Nyingma texts. As interpreter for Khenpo Pema Sherab Rinpoche, he travels worldwide sharing the Dharma.

𝐀𝐣𝐚𝐡𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐣𝐚𝐭𝐨 left a career as a musician to become a Theravada Buddhist monk in 1994. He took higher ordination in Thailand and lived there for years before returning to Australia. He spent several years at Bodhinyana Monastery in Western Australia before founding Santi Forest Monastery in New South Wales in 2003. Ajahn Sujato co-founded SuttaCentral.net in 2005 to provide access to early Buddhist texts in their original language and make translations available in modern languages in the public domain. In 2019, he moved to Sydney to establish Lokanta Vihara.

At this weekend’s Tsa Lung Retreat on December 13-14, Drubdra Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin Rinpoche will guide participants in ancient Tibetan practices that open the body, calm the mind, and awaken a deeper sense of well-being.

Tsa Lung Trul Khor, which means “the magical movements for the channels and winds”, refers to specific and, until recently, secret practices. These unique, purifying, physical exercises are designed to enhance meditation practice, especially practice in the Dzogchen style of effortlessly resting in the nature of one’s own mind. These methods have been traditionally employed by tantric yogis in the Himalayas, Zhang Zhung, and Tibet.

This weekend’s teaching is also a foundation for the practice of Tummo, which Khenpo Rinpoche is offering as a program the following weekend (Dec. 21 – 22, 2025).
