По данным МВД по Свердловской области, 65-летней жительнице Ревды позвонил через MAX неизвестный и предложил установить «умный домофон» со скидкой. Женщина согласилась и продиктовала ему код из СМС. Почти сразу также через мессенджер MAX позвонили якобы из Роскомнадзора и сообщили, что она общалась с мошенниками, а теперь, используя этот код, некий гражданин Украины оформил доверенность от её имени и может распоряжаться недвижимостью.
Мошенник заявил, что нужно «переоформить» квартиру, после чего будет сформирован «новый пакет документов». Пенсионерка действовала по инструкциям злоумышленников и лишилась недвижимости. @bankrollo

Pavel Durov was quoted at the time saying that the company was obliged to follow a “legitimate” law of the land. He added that as Apple and Google both follow the law, to violate it would give both platforms a reason to boot the messenger from its stores.
